Tsukuba is a circuit measured in tenths. Barely 2.045 km long and folded into the flat farmland of Ibaraki, north of Tokyo, its twelve corners leave almost no room to breathe — a tight, compact loop where hairpins, quick changes of direction and a couple of open sweeps follow one another in rapid succession. Drawn as a clean line, it reads as a dense, deliberate piece of engineering, where every curve has to earn its place.
The lap is defined by 80R, the long, fast curve whose constant eighty-metre radius rewards commitment over bravado and sets up everything that follows. Reduced to pure geometry, that single sweeping arc gives the drawing its rhythm: a small, intense layout that has long stood as a benchmark for outright pace. It suits a focused wall, where the precision of the line can be read up close.
