The story

Oulton Park holds a win no other circuit has: in 1961, a car driving all four wheels won here, the only four-wheel-drive victory ever in the top class of single-seater racing. It came in parkland reshaped in the late 18th century by a celebrated landscape gardener, whose plan dammed the estate’s brook into a lake and filled the grounds with trees. Down by the water, the corners are called Cascades, Lakeside and Island Bend.

Framed, the whole lap hangs in one piece: all seventeen turns numbered and every name lettered in, from Old Hall to Deer Leap, with the pit lane and the shorter layout in muted lines. From across the room it is one restless line through an English park; up close, a country estate redrawn as seventeen corners.
